    I used the silver cable with new display for my 2001BMW e38 740i with excellent results! I also purchased the speciality hot iron with silicone tip and am certain this tool helped me do it correctly.
    So nice to have the error display working again!

Purchase this item if you find your original LCD with corroded contact pads. 30%-50% of HIGH instrument Clusters produced in 2000-2003 suffer from the corroded contact pad issue which makes revising pixels with a new carbon or silver ribbon very difficult.

Features:
This is a quality OEM replacement LCD guaranteed to provide a bright, crips information display. Ribbon has pre-cut holes and clean edges. All tracks are guaranteed to line up perfectly with the PCB board 
 
Special Instructions:
To install you must use the T-Head with a 65 watt iron. Temperature at the rubber end must reach 210 degrees celsius and pressure must be applied in order for the ribbon to adhere to the board properly.
